London Borough of Barking and Dagenham wanted to transition their libraries’ on-premise environment to the cloud, not only to improve reliability and scalability, but also to future-proof services.
This is where Insight Media stepped in to help them migrate their on-site iCAM SQL database to our cloud platform.
We offer a range of hosted services for customers, incorporating the central components of our iCAM solutions. Our hosting and managed services are managed from our data centre in Cheshire.
We are seeing an increase in the number of customers moving to our hosted managed service and enjoying the significant benefits and cost savings associated with shared service delivery when working with strategic partners to deliver enhanced IT services. Library customers’ IT departments who are seeing their servers reaching end of life and considering server replacements or upgrades are reviewing their options - keep things in house or consider moving parts of their infrastructure to an external outsourcing provider.
Insight Media’s established hosted offering illustrates how a review of service delivery by IT departments and library services can lead to changes in service provision that not only save money but significantly enhance the services provided.
Kam Kumar, IT Technical Programme Manager, London Borough of Barking and Dagenham said: “Throughout the process, Insight Media were a great partner. From the initial planning stages, through the migration itself, and onto testing and resolving any issues, their team provided us with consistent support. They worked closely with us to ensure everything ran smoothly, and were always proactive in addressing any questions or concerns we had along the way.
“The migration itself was handled professionally and efficiently, and we felt reassured by their technical expertise and responsiveness. Their guidance helped us avoid pitfalls and achieve a successful transition, which has already started to deliver positive results for our libraries.”
